The Punjab Government has started a new E-Taxi Scheme in Lahore under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. This project is part of the Green & Clean Transport Initiative and aims to introduce environment-friendly Electric Taxis (E-Taxis) in the city.
The Transport and Mass Transit Department, in collaboration with the Bank of Punjab (BOP), will support local entities and car providers in using Electric Vehicles (EVs) for public transport.
What is the E-Taxi Scheme?
The E-Taxi Scheme is a pilot project where selected electric vehicles will be used as taxis in Lahore. This initiative helps reduce pollution and fuel costs while promoting electric transport in Pakistan.
Who Can Apply?
Companies, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), JV partners, suppliers, and dealers who can provide electric vehicles and after-sales services can apply. Only vehicles meeting safety and performance standards will be selected.

June 24, 2025 – Tuesday (before 11:00 AM)
Financial Support from Punjab Government
The Punjab Government will give up to Rs. 6.5 million per vehicle in financing. Selected buyers can repay the loan over 5 years, including vehicle price and registration fees. If any vehicle costs more than Rs. 6.5 million, the buyer will pay the extra cost.
